The day kicks off with an opening event that sets the tone for the week ahead. In the afternoon, learn more about improving accessibility in product design, how we can use design to fast track decarbonisation and the future of workspace design. End the day gaining insight into the journey of a successful designer and inventor, while exploring the work of local emerging talent.
Tuesday
24/06/25
Our open studio events begin! An opportunity to get an exclusive look at a range of exciting creative spaces. The afternoon includes organisations using design to improve sleep, tackle addiction and reduce rates of child poverty. The day ends with an special Q&A viewing of a documentary following the journey of a local disabled surfer, along with the designers who made it possible.
Wednesday
25/06/25
Spend the morning learning more about rural innovation, architecture or communication design. Followed by an afternoon learning about circular systems, talking about re-designing systems using AI or exploring the work of new talent in the world of architecture. Spend the evening meeting like-minded people in a relaxed setting.
Thursday
26/06/25
Start your day exploring architecture and planning futures, digital service design or visiting a vibrant community of creatives. Later, attend sessions that teach how to protect your creative work, develop solutions to improve the experience of public transport or trends in interior design. Finally, celebrate the week at a riverside party with connection, food and entertainment.
Friday
27/06/25
Learn about the journey of a creative studio changing the status quo or visit a centre of creative collaboration in Gateshead. The afternoon allows you to get a taste of the huge range of design and craft courses being taught in your local area whilst viewing some of the amazing work they have already helped to generate.
