About the event

GT3 Open Studios Inclusive by Design: Turning Moments into Meaning

Calling all early-career architects, designers and those simply interested in the world we live in — join GT3 on the morning of 24th June for an open studio session exploring how inclusive design can shape more thoughtful, meaningful spaces.

Using GT3’s Inclusive Design Research & Development Series as a basis, our studio will be open for walk-ins between 10am-12noon. Come and meet our team, learn about how inclusive design is incorporated into our design process, and discover how even the smallest moments of well-thought through design can have a huge impact within our communities.

GT3’s Inclusive Design R&D Series looks at how we can make our public spaces (leisure centres, libraries, cinemas, theatres, town centres etc.) more inclusive, and currently includes:

  • Designing for Caregivers of Young Children

  • Designing for Dementia, in conversation with the Alzheimer’s Society

  • Designing for Autism & Learning Difficulties

  • Designing for Blind & Visually Impaired, in conversation with Vision Northumberland & The Thomas Pocklington Trust

  • Designing for Deaf & Hearing Impaired

Agenda

  • Flexible drop-in session of live architectural and interior architectural design studio, with a series of activities/interactive stations on Inclusive Design.

About the organisation

GT3 is a vibrant practice of highly creative and imaginative architects, masterplanners, interior designers and consultants. We design places, spaces and buildings that combine craft and innovation with a strong social, economic and environmental agenda.

We position people, not buildings at the heart of our projects, working to ensure that the spaces we create are not just beautiful but that they deliver real, enduring value to the people who use and operate them long into the future. We are champions of inclusivity and transparency, with processes designed to engage, unite, inspire and challenge our clients, end-users and wider project team, from brief definition through to when a project is in use. It is an approach to engagement and thoughtful creativity that we like to call ‘People Architecture’.

GT3 Architects is an AJ10 RIBA Chartered Architectural Practice, operating nationally from our Nottingham, Newcastle, London and Belfast studios.
